Healey Sales Literature
This list is based on two big Austin-Healey publications lists, my own "collection", and what I run across. The two big Healey lists are by Jim Lesher, dated 3 August 1989, and Reid Trummel, dated August 1992. I ran across Jim Lesher's list at Walter Miller's, a literature store in Syracuse, New York. An earlier version of Jim's list was published in AHCA's Chatter, April 1988. Reid's list was from a session he presented at the '92 International Healey Meet in Breckenridge, Colorado. Until I found these two lists, I had no idea of the shear volume of literature that was produced.
As my collection is not that extensive, I can not personally verify all (all?, how about most!) of the entries. I am sure there are errors and omissions. Please let me know.

There is a neat booklet by John Reed of The Austin Counties Car Club called "In England with Austin" that identifies many of the places used in Austin publicity photographs of the 40s and 50s.
Legend
The format of the listing is from Reid's list. I've added a column for the source of each entry and a column for additional comments as in Jim Lesher's list.
- Publication Number
- These numbers are the most positive way to identify individual pieces of sales literature. They were apparently assigned in numerical order, meaning that a lower number was printed earlier that a higher one. The publication number is almost always found in the bottom right hand corner of the back page, although in a few cases they were printed inside the back cover or on a title page.
The publication number may include the date of printing and the quanitity printed. For example:
- 1405/D T/757/A was printed in July, 1957
- 1405/E PF/1057/A was printed in October, 1957
- 1124E/BW 300M-9/59 300,000 copies were made in September 1959.
The Donald Healey Motor Company publications don't appear to have publication number.
- Type
- there were several types of sales literature from multi-page catalogs to single sheets of paper. On these lists the following abbreviations apply:
CC Color Catalog More than four pages, stapled, with illustrations in full color CF Color Folder Four pages (a single piece of paper folded once), six pages (a single piece of paper folded twice) or eight pages (a single piece of paper folded once horizontally and then once vertically), not stapled, with illustrations in full color. PCF Part Color Folder Same as CF, but with the illustrations/graphics not in full color. PCS Part Color Sheet A single sheet with illustrations/graphics not in full color. BWS Black & White Sheet A single sheet with illustrations/graphics in black & white. Postcard Black & White or Color Postcard A single card with illustrations/graphics in black & white or color. Poster Black & White or Color Poster A single sheet with illustrations/graphics in black & white or color. - Size
- Listed in inches with the horizontal dimension listed first.
- Pages
- The number of pages including the covers.
- Cover Title/Cover Description
- The major wording on the front with an abbreviated description of the comver, also listing any readable registration/license plates in parentheses.
- Series
- The series of Healey to which an individual item applies.
- Source
- The source of the information for the individual item.
- Jim Lesher's 1989 list
